The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is seeking comments on the review of the Mawson’s Huts Historic Site Management Plan 2013-2018.
Constructed during the Australasian Antarctic Expedition 1911-1914 by Sir Douglas Mawson and his team, Mawson’s Huts Historic Site is a place of great historical and social significance, and is listed on both the and Heritage lists.
In accordance with sections 324W and 341X of the , the Department is conducting a review of the Mawson’s Huts Historic Site Management Plan 2013-2018 and invites comments on the following:
- whether the plan is consistent with the ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Heritage management principles
- the effectiveness of the plan in protecting and conserving the ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Heritage values of the place
- whether the plan is consistent with the Commonwealth Heritage management principles
- the effectiveness of the plan in protecting and conserving the Commonwealth Heritage values of the place.
