Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in relation to a stolen vehicle incident earlier this morning.
Just before 5am, a Maroon VX Commodore was stolen from a service station on the Stuart Highway in Alice Springs. During the incident, the owner of the vehicle, a 59-year-old man, was struck by a trailer connected to the vehicle and dragged roughly 5-10 meters, resulting in grazes and bruising. He later presented at the Alice Springs Hospital for medical treatment.
The vehicle and trailer were recovered in Braitling and Sadadeen earlier today. Strike Force Viper has carriage of the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 131 444. Please quote reference number 10411402.
