Northern Territory Police are calling for information following the discovery of a deceased male on Undoolya Road east of Alice Springs, beyond the end of the sealed section of road.
About 12.30pm a female driver observed the man lying on the road before calling the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre.
The currently unidentified non-indigenous man is believed to be between 20 and 40-years-old.
Police are urging anyone with CCTV footage or dash cam footage from Undoolya Road between the intersections of Kurrajong Drive and Spearwood road between 10am and 1.00pm today to contact NT Police on 131 444 and quote Job NTP2400000232.
The access to Undoolya Station along Undoolya Road is expected to be closed for most of tonight and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
