Campbelltown takes on Blood Challenge

The community is being called on to join Council in supporting the Australian Red Cross Ready. Set. Give! 2020 Councils Blood Challenge.

Council competes each year against other LGAs to donate the most blood and has this year opened the challenge up to the community.

Blood donations are used in a number of treatments for people with various diseases or who have lost blood through childbirth or trauma.

“Now more than ever the Australian Red Cross needs blood donations because of the drop in supply caused by the COVID-19 health situation,” Mayor George Brticevic said.

“Every donation could save three lives so I encourage everyone to get behind a bit of friendly competition with other LGAs and join me and many of our staff in donating blood,” Cr Brticevic said.

Ready. Set. Give! 2020 Councils Blood Challenge is being held until 30 September.

People are encouraged to register as part of Campbelltown City Council NSW when they book their blood donation at any location that is convenient to them.
