Cancer Council Queensland named as charity for 2021 Mayor’s Carols by Candlelight
Cancer Council Queensland has been chosen to benefit from this year’s Rockhampton Mayor’s Carols by Candlelight. The organisation will receive public donations and proceeds from ticket sales at this year’s concerts.
Cancer Council Queensland is dedicated to supporting the community through prevention, early detection and treatment, and increasing survival and improving quality of life for those affected in Queensland.
“The Rockhampton Region community has a great tradition of helping others, not only at Christmas but at any time people are in need. I am very pleased that this year we will be able to assist Cancer Council Queensland on a vital local project, Daffodil Place,” Mayor Tony Williams said.
“Rockhampton Regional Council received many submissions from worthy causes, so selecting one was a difficult choice,” he said
“I know times are tough for many people right now but I do urge audience members to give what they can to Cancer Council Queensland at this year’s Mayor’s Carols by Candlelight concerts,” Mayor Williams said.
