Queensland Corrective Services are seeking Queensland’s 82 most wanted to join the front line of public safety at Capricornia Correctional Centre.
As part of the $241 million expansion of the centre, 76 custodial correctional officers and 6 trade instructors are needed to start training by the end of August.
Commissioner Peter Martin APM said that that people from all walks of life should consider applying and there has never been a better time to consider a career in corrective services.
“We are looking for people with excellent communication skills and a strong desire to make a difference in crime prevention and community safety in Rockhampton,” Commissioner Martin said.
“You must have empathy, be able to communicate well, and undertake your role ethically and professionally. We are an organisation are in responsible for looking after the most complex and challenging people in society, so we are truly on the front line of community safety.”

Successful applicants will undertake training in the paid 10-week full-time Custodial Officer Entry Program (COEP) through the QCS Academy starting on September 28 which consists of range of academic, scenario-based written and physical assessments.
