Police investigating the alleged hit and run of a woman pushing a pram at Merrylands yesterday have seized a car.
Emergency services were called to Claremont Street about 1.35pm yesterday (Friday 7 June 2024), after a 43-year-old woman suffered serious leg injuries when struck by a car which did not stop.
The woman’s two-year-old daughter, who was being pushed in the pram, escaped injury.
Passersby rendered assistance until NSW Ambulance paramedics took the woman to Westmead Hospital where she’s reported to be in a stable condition.
Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command established a crime scene which was examined by specialists from the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU).
Following inquiries, an unregistered blue Lancer was seized from a home on Guildford Road at Guildford. It has been taken for forensic examination.
Police arrested an 82-year-old woman at the scene and took her to Granville Police Station. She has since been released without charge, pending further inquiries.
