Caring For Sea Country: Bayside

Bayside Council is hosting a free Caring for Sea Country workshop by the Gamay Rangers as part of the Love our Bay Summer Foreshore Program.

The Gamay Rangers undertake natural and cultural resource management activities on cultural areas within Botany Bay and on conservation land owned by the La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council.

Gamay Rangers work closely with environmental agencies, research institutions and Corporations that operate on or around Botany Bay.

This Gamay Rangers educational talk will cover the important work they do caring for Botany Bay and ways the community can help reduce the environmental impact of single use plastics and microplastics. They will also address the impact Jet Skis have on seagrass.

The Gamay Rangers were also part of a project that released 200 juvenile White Seahorses into Botany Bay at Brighton Le Sands early this year, and they continue to monitor them.
