Police have released CCTV and are appealing for public assistance following an assault and armed robbery in Sydney’s west last month.
Just before 10pm on Monday 18 May 2020, a 20-year-old male food delivery rider was sitting on a bench at the The Kingsway, outside Wentworthville Railway Station, when an unknown man approached and kicked him in the head.
The man threatened him with a knife, demanding money, before he forced him to walk to a nearby ATM.
As they were walking, the 20-year-old ran into a pizza shop, alerting staff to the incident.
The man ran back to the bench and stole the 20-year-old’s scooter, food delivery bag and wallet, which contained cards and cash.
The scooter was last seen turning into a park near Finlaysons Creek.
Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.
Following inquiries, police have now released CCTV of a man, who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
The man is depicted as being Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance, 178cm tall, with an athletic build. He is seen in the vision wearing a black peaked cap, a grey hoodie jumper, dark coloured shorts, red and white joggers, and small backpack worn on the front.
It is believed the scooter travelled down The Kingsway, then Station, Dunmore and Lane streets and Fullagar Road.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have information about the incident or who may have been driving in the area at the time and has dash cam vision to contact Granville Police Station on 9897 4046.
