CCTV released as investigations continue into armed robbery in Whalan

Police have released CCTV vision as they continue to investigate an armed robbery in Sydney’s west last month.

About 5.30pm on Monday 2 August 2021, police were called to a tobacconist on Bulolo Drive, Whalan, following reports of an armed robbery.

Police were told two men – armed with a machete and a tomahawk – entered the store and threatened three staff members, before stealing the cash register containing an amount of cash.

The men then run down an alleyway onto Torres Avenue, Whalan.

Officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command attended, and detectives commenced an investigation into the incident under Strike Force Petostrum.

As inquires continue, investigators have released CCTV footage of two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The first man depicted is described as wearing a black hooded jumper, black ‘Reebok’ track pants, white socks, dark coloured sneakers, a black baseball cap, a black face covering and white gloves.

The second man depicted is described as wearing a black hooded jumper, grey track pants, white sneakers, a black baseball cap, sunglasses, a black mask, and black gloves.

CCTV has also been released of a gold-coloured Toyota Camry sedan seen driving south on Bonaro Avenue shortly after the incident. Police are appealing for anyone with information about the vehicle, or its occupants, to come forward.
