CCTV Released As Part Of Armed Robbery Investigation

Detectives have released CCTV vision and are appealing for public assistance as they investigate an armed robbery south of Tweed Heads yesterday.

Police were called to a service station on Tweed Coast Road, Hastings Point, about 10.30pm (Saturday 30 March 2024), responding to reports of an armed robbery.

Officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District arrived and were told a man had threatened a store employee with a firearm before taking cash and leaving the scene.

The staff member was shaken but not physically injured.

Police established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV vision of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, in his 30s, with a medium build, thin face and about 180cm tall.

He was last seen wearing a light purple hooded jumper, black shorts with red pockets, white shoes and black socks.

Anyone with information into his whereabouts is urged to not to approach him but to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
