Detectives investigating a fire and vessel break-in at a Nelson Bay marina last year have released CCTV footage and are appealing for public assistance.
About 2.30am on Wednesday 8 August 2018, emergency services were called to the d’Albora Marina on Teramby Road, following reports of vessels on fire.
Fire crews attended and extinguished the blaze; however, the fire caused significant damage to three vessels and the marina.
A moored vessel was also broken into, and cash was stolen.
A crime scene was established and forensically examined.
Following inquiries, a 23-year-old man was charged at the time. He remains before the courts.
Investigators from the Marine Area Command have now released CCTV footage of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The man depicted is aged in his 50s, with a beard, and barefoot. He is wearing a dark coloured jacket and carrying a bag.
Inquiries are continuing.
