CCTV released in appeal following hit and run – Fairfield Heights

Police are releasing CCTV in an appeal for information after a man was hit by a car in Sydney’s south west last night.

About 8.10pm yesterday (Wednesday 2 October 2024), emergency services were called to Station Street, Fairfield Heights, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command arrived to find a 39-year-old man had been hit by a car.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop and left the scene prior to police arrival.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

Police established a crime scene with the assistance of the Crash Investigation Unit and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Following enquiries, detectives are releasing CCTV of a vehicle they believe was being driven in the incident.

The vehicle was seen travelling on Station Street, Fairfield Heights, before turning left on Marlborough Street and travelling towards Polding Street.

The vehicle is described as being a silver-coloured sedan. Police believe the vehicle has a broken headlight and damage to the bonnet and windscreen.
