Over the holidays, many locals enjoyed the new play equipment, upgraded basketball courts, connected pedestrian pathways, park furniture, public barbeques and picnic tables that Sun Valley Park, Green Point now offers as the Central Coast’s third regional level playspace.
What’s new?
Sun Valley Park was redeveloped with a new inclusive regional level playspace and outdoor recreational space for our community to safely play, keep active and connect.
The playspace and park was designed with input from the community to meet the needs of this area’s growing population featuring:
- play equipment for a wide range of ages and abilities including nature play, climbing, balancing, swinging and spinning play elements, and equipment which is inter-generational so everyone can interact together. There’s also a flying fox, shade structures and fencing.
- two upgraded basketball courts
- connective pedestrian pathways
- park furniture
- public barbeques
- picnic tables
- water refill station
- landscaping to complement the natural environment
- off street carpark
- upgraded amenities building
We know Coast families love playspaces and we are proud that our playspaces have provided a positive outlet for children right across the Coast, particularly during the latest lockdown period.
The continued delivery of playspace infrastructure is a result of community feedback as part of Council’s Central Coast Playspace Strategy and is important to ensure fit-for-purpose facilities that support the needs and growth of our community.
We look forward to seeing our community enjoy this new facility.
The Sun Valley Park redevelopment and regional playspace was proudly funded by the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund in association with Central Coast Council.
