As a valued member of Central West Libraries, we want to keep you informed about how we are dealing with the COVID-19 crisis and its local implications.
Our library branches are complying with the recommendations of national and state health authorities about managing the COVID-19 crisis.
At present, all branches are open for their usual hours although some services such as the number of public computers and home library deliveries have been varied to meet the social distancing requirements.
Activities such as storytimes, code clubs, computer classes and author visits will be reviewed in the light of any changes to health recommendations and in response number of confirmed registrations for each event. We will notify everyone who has booked in if it is necessary to cancel an activity or an event.
We ask that library members who are unable to collect reservations notify their local branch so that stock may be allocated to others on the waiting list.
Return chutes are available at all locations and loan renewals are available by phone and online.
Central West Libraries is working to boost its online resources to provide access to extra eaudiobooks, ebooks, emagazines, movie streaming, storybox and online databases.
It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure the places our community gathers are healthy and safe. It is even more important than ever that you choose not to come to our libraries if you are experiencing cold or flu like symptoms.
It’s also important to maintain an increased level of hygiene (handwashing, covering coughs/sneezes). Library staff are also placing an increased emphasis on hygiene, including extra disinfection of surfaces.
This is a situation where there will be ongoing developments and questions. Central West Libraries is committed to keeping its community informed with up to date information and answering queries about major developments as they emerge via cwl.nsw.gov.au and social media.
