The City welcomes the Local Government Minister David Templeman’s announcement today, to appoint Len Kosova as a new City of Perth Commissioner, to fill the vacancy created by Eric Lumsden upon his recent resignation.
Additionally, Andrew Hammond, an existing Commissioner, will become the new Chair.
Andrew Hammond said he was humbled and privileged to accept the role as Chair and thanked the Minister for the opportunity.
“I want to acknowledge Eric’s efforts as the Chair, he has done a fantastic job for the City in the role to date and I wish him well in the future,” Mr Hammond said.
“I also want to thank the Deputy Chair Gaye McMath for all her assistance in dealing with City business during the last few months while Eric has been absent.
“Gaye and I welcome Len to the team and we are looking forward to working with him to continue to focus on priorities to get the City into good shape.”
Len Kosova comes to the City with many years’ experience in local government, having been an urban and regional town planner.
He has held senior roles within the Cities of Wanneroo, Gosnells, Swan, the Shire of Mundaring and more recently the Chief Executive Officer of the City of Vincent.
Mr Kosova starts in the role on Monday.
