If you are sick of arguing about vegetables at dinner time and would like healthier and happier meals, then you won’t want to miss Jamie’s Ministry of Food Australia’s five-week online course.
Toowoomba Regional Council Portfolio Leader of Environment and Community Services, Cr Tim McMahon said the Good Foundation has collaborated with Council’s CHANGE Project, to deliver a 5-week online course catering specifically for the Toowoomba Region.
“Over five sessions participants will learn to make key recipes that cover every meal; from breakfast and sides to lunch and dinner,” Cr McMahon said.
“Taught by professional food trainers via a live interactive video chat, participants will learn knife skills and techniques to make it simpler and quicker to cook delicious meals on a budget.
“Participants will learn how to bring the best flavours out of fresh ingredients and how-to meal plan on a budget, so your food goes further.
“Those registered will also have the added benefit of social connection through the video chatting platform.
“The course follows the following themes:
- Session 1 – Intro to cooking
- Session 2 – Simple pasta for the whole family
- Session 3 – Batch cooking with delicious chilli
- Session 4 – Pantry staples with homemade pizza
- Session 5 – Wholesome ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Meals with a hearty soup
“The course is open to absolutely everyone; however, it is recommended for those 12 years or older to keep up with the recipe.
“The program will commence on Wednesday 24 June 2020 4 pm-5 pm, for eligible CHANGE Project Groups and Thursday 25 June 2020 4 pm-5 pm for the wider community.
“All classes are recorded so that participants can watch it back later or still participate if they cannot attend a session live.
“The cost of the program is $14.95 forfive sessions. Toowoomba Regional Council is also offering it through Council’s CHANGE Project, to ** eligible groups for $5.00 per person for the five-week course.
“Council’s award-winning CHANGE Project has a host of low-cost programs that offer simple tips promoting healthy cooking, eating and exercise regimes.
“Jamie’s ministry of food mobile kitchen was a great success when it was last in the Toowoomba Region in 2013, with 443 community members participating in the program.
“Previous programs booked-out within a week of being advertised, and positive feedback was received from participants in the program.
“Bookings are essential, and registrations are now open until Tuesday 23 June 2020.”
