Two people will face court today charged over allegedly stealing bikes, ammunition, food, clothing, and collectibles from an apartment complex in Sydney’s CBD.
On Saturday 24 December 2022, officers from Sydney City Police Area Command’s Proactive Crime Team commenced an investigation, following reports two electric bikes had been stolen from a residential carpark in Saunders Street, Pyrmont.
Following inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant at a unit and a nearby car park in Pyrmont yesterday (Tuesday 3 January 2023).
Officers located several items relevant to the investigation, including pre-packaged food meals, ammunition, prescription medication, credit cards, toy collectibles, action figures, shoes, and replica firearms.
These items were seized to undergo forensic examination.
A 37-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman were arrested at the property and taken to Day Street Police Station.
The man was charged with three counts of larceny, three counts of goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, supply prohibited drug, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, and possess prescription unlawfully obtained.
The woman was charged with two counts of larceny, three counts of goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug, and possess prescription unlawfully obtained.
Police will allege in court that the pair were stealing packages and parcels intended for other residents from the entrance of a Pyrmont unit complex.
Both were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Wednesday 4 January 2023).
Investigations are continuing.
