Strike Force Trident have arrested a 15-year-old male in relation to alleged property offences.
The male attempted to gain entry to a residence in Rapid Creek before he was disturbed by the occupants around 3:00am on 24 December 2018. He then fled the scene.
On 25 December 2018 a Jingili resident woke to find alcohol and a number of items had been stolen from inside his property.
Another resident in Ludmilla discovered items stolen after his property was entered around 3:30pm on 17 January 2019.
Residents at a Nightcliff address heard noises coming from a bedroom around 10:40pm on 27 January 2019. The residents went to investigate and disturbed the two offenders who had gained entry and were armed with baseball bats. The offenders fled and left the baseball bats at the scene. A number of items were stolen from the property and were later recovered by police.
The 15-year-old was apprehended by police around 2:40pm yesterday in Malak.
He has been charged with:
• 3 x unlawful entry – dwelling
• 1 x Trespass
• 3 x Stealing
• 1 x damage to property
• 1 x armed with offensive weapon – night
He is due to appear in Darwin Youth Justice Court today.
