Chief Executive Officers Report – September

The CEO’s Operational Report for September was received at the October 30 Ballarat City Council meeting.

Outlined in the report were key achievements, projects and events delivered:

  • Philanthropic forum – In partnership with the Percy Baxter Charitable Trust and the Ballarat Foundation, a Philanthropic Forum was presented to more than 90 participants
  • Creative City Strategy success with Fringe Benefits – The response to a call out for performers to participate the first Fringe Benefits music event has been overwhelming, with more than 40 local performers and 20 venues registered
  • Design thinking workshop – 18 food and beverage industry representatives worked alongside a delegation of 13 Western Australian industry representatives to focus on collaboration for success in the global market
  • Bernard Salt: Ballarat into the Future – Hosted renowned demographer and futurist Bernard Salt for two events
  • Regional premiere of Ride Like A Girl
  • Startup Ballarat: ‘Lift your Game” business workshop for digital games development studios
  • 2019 Victorian Early Years Awards finalist for the Children’s Services team

Ongoing community consultation:

  • Miners Rest (north of Cummins Road) character survey – aimed at protecting the original part of the town
  • Bakery Hill and Bridge Mall Urban Renewal Project
  • Integrated Transport Plan – walking and pedestrian network discussion paper
