Detectives from the Wynnum Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged a 29-year-old man following investigations into indecent treatment of children in Brisbane’s south.
It will be alleged that the man had used a online chat platform to communicate with a 14-year-old girl, before they met two times in June 2024.
A report was made to police on Wednesday, July 10, with detectives immediately conducting enquires.
Following those investigations, officers executed a search warrant at a Underwood address on July 11, and the 29-year-old man was taken into custody later that day.
He has since been charged with two counts of rape, and one count of grooming child under 16 years.
He is next due to appear in Wynnum Magistrates Court on September 16.
