Orange residents are being encouraged to embrace the magic of the season when the Community Christmas Carols return to the heart of the city on Saturday, 9 December.
This local family tradition will once again transform the Civic Centre North Court into a festive wonderland, uniting the community in joy and song.
Orange Mayor Jason Hamling is looking forward to this annual showcase of Orange’s brightest talents.
“After another year that’s been as hectic and busy as ever, this event promises to be a heartwarming celebration of togetherness and holiday spirit,” Cr Hamling said.
“It’s a free community event for everyone to enjoy. Let’s come together and make this holiday season truly unforgettable by joining in the singing and listening to our local performers.”
Performers from the Orange Regional Conservatorium and the Orange Brass Band will again feature in the Carols event this year.
Christmas Carols 2022
“Of course, no Christmas Carols event would be complete without a special visit from Santa, who will have the usual surprises for the kids,” Cr Hamling said.
This year, we’re introducing a range of attractions for everyone. Satisfy your taste buds with local food and beverages from our stall holders and illuminate the night with glowsticks and LED candles available for purchase.
“The Community Christmas Carols is a cherished, family-friendly event proudly hosted by Orange City Council. I invite everyone to come along on Saturday, December 9. Bring your family and friends and a passion for singing together,” Cr Hamling said.
“I’d also like to acknowledge our sponsors Southern Cross Austereo and Neil Gill as our MC.”
The event is held from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Civic Centre North Court, located at the corner of Peisley and March Streets.
Families are invited to bring a picnic blanket, a fold-up chair. The Community Christmas Carols are an alcohol-free event.
