Mayor of Liverpool Wendy Waller said Council is looking forward to bringing the Christmas cheer this festive season with a host of events and activiations at Carnes Hill, Macquare Mall and Liverpool City Library that would thrill community members of all ages.
“The easing of restrictions continuing across the state means Council is able to continue with its exciting events calendar and provide residents with a much needed sprinkle of joy.
“For one night only, Carnes Hill will be a wonderland filled with everyone’s favourite festive traditions including carols on the lawn, arts and crafts workshops and activities the whole family can enjoy including a visit from Santa and his elves.
“There will also be Christmas markets where visitors will be able to purchase a homemade gift and enjoy a Christmas-themed treat while supporting our local artisans and makers,” Mayor Waller said.
Christmas in Carnes Hill will take place from 4pm to 9pm on Saturday 18 December at the Carnes Hill Community and Recreation Precinct located at 600 Kurrajong Road, Carnes Hill.
“Council’s exciting Christmas festivities officially kick off from 1 December in the heart of Liverpool. In the lead up to 25 December, Macquarie Mall will be home to a series of festive-themed activations including our spectacularly lit Christmas tree, a brilliantly illuminated giant bauble and a magical fairy light tree corridor,” Mayor Waller added.
“Council’s Libraries will also host free Christmas activities for our youngest residents throughout December including festive fables presented in-person at Casula and Carnes Hill Library, as well as online.
“There will also be craft workshops during the school holidays and as well as an exciting Christmas pop-up photobooth at Liverpool City and Carnes Hill Library, where families can use the green-screen set up to select a virtual background which can be sent digitally for an easy and fun Christmas greeting card.”
