Christmas decorations to be installed across Greater Bendigo

Christmas decorations are being installed across Greater Bendigo to mark the arrival of the festive season.

City of Greater Bendigo Manager Tourism and Major Events Terry Karamaloudis said the decorations would appear in various locations across the municipality.

“Christmas is such a special time of the year and the decorations help make our streets look festive for residents and visitors to enjoy,” Mr Karamaloudis said.

“For the first time the Bendigo lettering in Rosalind Park’s Piazza will feature a Christmas design theme which I’m sure will be a popular selfie spot.”

City staff will be installing the centrepiece Christmas tree, four nutcrackers, a sleigh and decorative pole toppers in Rosalind Park.

At the end of November, the Bendigo letters in the Piazza will be given a new festive look that compliments the designs for the large banners in View Street and Pall Mall, and the new planter boxes near the Conservatory.

Traditional wreaths will feature on lamp posts in the Queen Victoria and George Lansell Gardens.

Bendigo Town Hall already features the traditional elegant wreath. Bath Lane, Bull Street and Golden Square will feature festive pole toppers and Mitchell Street will have bauble installations.

Hargreaves Mall will feature three giant circular orbles together with hanging decorations from the catenary netting, while two large nutcracker decorations will be installed at The Capital.

Crook Street Park in Strathdale will have large bauble installations and Botanical Gardens will feature a spiral tree.

Festive super banners will fly high at the main entrances to the City at McIvor Road, Kangaroo Flat and Lake Weeroona.

A Christmas wreath will adorn the Eaglehawk Town Hall and new banners will appear in the High Street along with pole toppers.

Kangaroo Flat will have a Christmas tree at Rotary Gateway Park and festive pole toppers on the High Street.

The Heathcote Visitor Centre will feature Santa Claus in his sleigh on the roof, and traditional garlands. The town will also have a Christmas tree, wreath and power pole decorations.

Elmore will have festive banners, pole decorations and pole toppers and Axedale’s centrepiece will be a Christmas tree.
