Council is running its annual Christmas Gift and Food Appeal, with donations being accepted from Monday 15 November to Friday 10 December.
Residents are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items which can be dropped off at Cessnock and Kurri Kurri Libraries or Council’s Administration Building on Vincent Street, Cessnock.
All donations this year will be given to the Kurri Kurri Community Centre who will deliver to those doing it tough in the local community.
Cessnock City Council’s General Manager, Lotta Jackson, is encouraging people to give what they can as local families need our support more than ever.
“2021 has been a challenging year for many and those in the community who were already experiencing hardship have been doing it especially tough. Christmas is the perfect time to think of others and show your support.”
“This year more than ever, the impact of your generosity and kindness will be felt in the lives of vulnerable families,” added Lotta.
Council hopes the community will show their support and give generously to the appeal. Donations will be accepted up until Friday 10 December.
For health and safety reasons, please ensure all donations are new and unwrapped, and please follow conditions of entry to Cessnock and Kurri Kurri Libraries and Council’s Administration Building when dropping off.
