The Fremantle Christmas Festival has been launched, with a program of free events sure to spread joy and happiness across Freo.
From 4-17 December, the Christmas spirit will be alive with movie nights, carol singing and an Elf of the Shelf Christmas Trail.
Fremantle Mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge said the City is proud to support events that bring the community together.
“It’s a great opportunity for families to come into the CBD and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere.
“It’s a busy time of year, so I’d encourage people to put these dates in the diary, book early for the movies, start practising your carols and discover some hidden gems along the Christmas Trail,” Mayor Fitzhardinge said.

Movie-goers are welcome to come early with their picnic blanket and dinner to this free ticketed event.
From 4pm there will be activities hosted by the Fremantle Toy Library, roving performances, face-painting and a visit from Santa Claus from 5pm.
The movie will commence at 7pm.
Community Christmas Carols | 15 December | Walyalup Koort
Local performers will treat families and friends to a night of singing under the stars in the heart of Fremantle with the always popular Community Christmas Carols.
The Fremantle Toy Library will be hosting activities from 4pm, with roving performances from Christmas elves and Santa from 5pm.
Carols will commence at 5pm.
Elf on the Shelf Christmas Trail | 4-17 December | 10am-4pm
Santa is calling on the children of Fremantle to help find a group of cheeky elves that has escaped from the North Pole.
By using a map, children will be able to follow the walkable trail through Fremantle to discover the elves hiding in Freo’s unique attractions, shops and venues.
Maps can be collected from either of the following start locations:
- Fremantle Visitor Centre in Walyalup Koort
- WA Shipwrecks Museum
Santa’s little helpers will need to follow the trail to find at least six elves, record their names and scan the QR code to enter the prize competition.
