Merida, Mexico – The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Merida (CIFAL Merida) in close collaboration with the Secretary of Public Safety of the State of Yucatan (SSP) implemented a series of practical activities to raise awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving amongst high school students in Yucatan.
Throughout September, a total of 2,470 students (1,239 men and 1,231 women) from the following institutions were reached through the :

- Centro Universitario Montejo – University Centre Montejo
- Preparatoria 8 Carlos Castillo Peraza – State School 8 Carlos Castillo Peraza
- Preparatoria 2 – Preparatory School 2
- Colegio Madison – Madison International School
- Programme Jornadas Violeta Acanceh, Uman, Telchac Puerto
- Programme Semujeres Kancab, tekax, cansahcab
The Autosobriety Training Programme consists of educational tools that aim to reduce and prevent alcohol-related traffic injuries and fatalities, and ultimately advance UN Global Road Safety Performance Target 9: By 2030 halve the number of road traffic injuries and deaths related to drivers using alcohol.
