City of Light events calendar set to shine in 2023

The City of Light is delighted to support a range of events which will keep the City buzzing – they breathe life into our City, boost our economy and bring communities together.

This week, the City of Perth committed almost $300,000* in event sponsorships in 2023, to keep the City shining.

Strange Festival received $60,000 to return to celebrate weird and wonderful Aussie artists in some of the City’s most unique and unused spaces.

The Make Smoking History Targa West Rally will also return in 2023, with the City set to commit $80,000 this year. The free four-day motor sport event is run over 1000km throughout the Eastern suburbs of Perth and beyond and includes a ‘Show and Shine’ car display in Forrest Place and Murray Street, as well as a City of Perth Family Zone.

The City will also provide $77,500 in sponsorship of Perth’s Garden and Outdoor Living Festival which is set to delight the City’s green fingers.

City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said major events were important for the City’s economy to attract visitors local and aboard as Perth continues to shine as WA’s event capital.

“The City of Light is delighted to support a range of events which will keep the City buzzing – they breathe life into our City, boost our economy and bring communities together.

“We hope to offer something for everyone, it’s never been easier to find your scene in our City, which is why we support such a diverse range of events throughout the year.
