Dozens of City of Salisbury staff, Mayor Gillian Aldridge OAM and elected members joined police and the wider community in a White Ribbon walk on Friday.
The event, organised by Northern District police, saw hundreds of community members walk from the Salisbury Police Station to Gawler Street and the length of John Street before returning back to the police station.
Officers from the Mounted Operations Unit as well as the Band of the SA Police led the third annual walk for White Ribbon Australia – an organisation which works to end violence against women.
Local business owners and staff, school students and other community members joined the walk in a powerful symbol of their commitment to standing up, speaking out and acting to prevent violence within the local community.
City of Salisbury is passionate about the White Ribbon campaign and embraced the opportunity to take part in the important community event, with staff also raising funds towards the prevention of domestic violence.
