City of Salisbury reveals final design for Salisbury Aquatic Centre

The highly anticipated Salisbury Aquatic Centre’s final design is officially complete and ready to view!

The Salisbury Aquatic Centre has been brought to life with features that will provide something for everyone, whether they’re there for fitness, recreation, or the perfect family day out.

I’m very impressed with the design for the new Aquatic Centre as I think it will service the community beautifully. Our beloved swimming centre has been connecting the community for decades, and this new layout will make it accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone.

Mayor Gillian Aldridge OAM

The project was funded jointly by the City of Salisbury, with a contribution of $21.215 million, and the Government of South Australia’s Local Government Infrastructure Partnership Program, with contribution of $7.185 million. It has been a significant undertaking since its start in 2022, and the centre is on schedule to open in 2024 with construction well underway, progressing well.

The new Salisbury Aquatic Centre will boast a sleek, fresh exterior with landscaped gardens as well as grassed, shaded areas for relaxing and gathering with friends and family. The swimming pools will cater for everyone year-round, with a heated indoor pool and ramps for wheelchair access.

The two large waterslides and state-of-the-art splash playground equipment will have the kids feeling like they’re at a waterpark, while adults can take advantage of the comprehensive gym with a range of equipment that overlooks the outdoor pool.

For anyone getting hungry, the fun doesn’t need to be cut short. The centre will feature an on-site café with plenty of seating to provide a one stop aquatic oasis for the City of Salisbury community
