In November 2019, Mosman Council declared a Climate Emergency. The Sustainability team has been expanded to three with the addition of a specialist in climate change and social transition.
Mosman Council is preparing a Climate Strategy and Action Plan for the next five years which will outline potential actions to be assessed against environmental, economic and social outcomes.
Residents are invited to attend Council’s series of Community Consultation Workshops.
The Climate Action Forum, which has been postponed due to public health directives on large gatherings, will be part of a suite of activities and community engagements to inform the Climate Strategy and Action Plan. Speakers are set to include Mosman’s Mayor Carolyn Corrigan, Member for Warringah Zali Steggall OAM, Member for North Shore Felicity Wilson, Professor David Schlosberg, University of Sydney and Professor Ruth Irwin, Mosman Council. The event will wrap up with a brief Q&A session.
