Clive Palmer challenges Deputy Premier to debate

United Australia Party

Chairman of Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party, Clive Palmer, has challenged Queensland Deputy Premier Steven Miles to a public debate, so Queenslanders can hear Labor’s plans for getting the State’s $120 billion debt blowout under control.

“The Queensland Labor Government has tried to gag our party for suggesting they could introduce a death tax if re-elected.

“We know that the Greens and Labor had proposed to introduce a death tax at the last federal election in an effort to redistribute wealth, so how can we believe anything they say?

“In the last four years the Palaszczuk Government has doubled the State’s debt from $60 billion to $120 billion.

“The deputy leader Steven Miles has been critical of me so I would like to hear first-hand what his party’s plans are for economic recovery. Queenslanders have a right to know.

“Labor are out of ideas so they just keep trying the same things over and over again and expecting different results. That’s the definition of insanity.

“I will debate the Queensland Deputy Premier anywhere, anytime. Only Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party can end Labor’s destruction of the economy,” Mr Palmer said.

“We need a new deal for Queensland. Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party will deliver economic growth and prosperity once elected.

“We need to stop the death tax, cut the red tape, eliminate payroll tax and eliminate land tax to make our State stronger and more competitive, and provide employment for our people.

“I am looking forward to debating with the Deputy Premier over these important matters for Queensland’s future, should he accept my offer,” Mr Palmer said.
