Kempsey Shire Council is replacing Lees Drain Bridge during August to October, with works starting on Monday 28 August 2023.
Signage will be installed to advise residents of the upcoming road closure and detour information.
Once constructed, Lees Drain Bridge will be a new concrete structure, able to withstand heavier loads and provide safer conditions.

Detour details
Residents downstream of the bridge location will continue to use Kinchela Creek Left Bank Road to South West Rocks Road.
Residents upstream of the bridge location will need to use Kinchela Creek Right Bank Road to travel to Hat Head Road.
Costs for this replacement is part of Council’s $20.5 million funding from the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Bridges program.
