The recent clothing swap at Arncliffe Youth Centre in partnership with The Clothing exchange was a run-away success with residents eager to minimise clothing waste.
More than 310 items weighing approximately 93kg were swapped as residents enjoyed a sustainable alternative to shopping.
The clothing swap provided a novel way for residents to refresh their wardrobes, save money, and contribute to reducing textile waste.
Everyone who attended the event brought several items of clothing to swap. Items were checked in and exchanged for “button” currency that was used to purchase new items.
