CommBank Health invests in Surgical Partners

CommBank Health and Surgical Partners have announced a strategic partnership that will bring enhanced digital reconciliation and income automation to – a comprehensive destination for practice management and intelligence.

Surgical Partners is the leading platform for practice payment reconciliation and doctor income calculation used by hundreds of medical practices around Australia.

CommBank Smart Heath will work with Surgical Partners to deliver visibility of practice service fees and doctor income within CommBank Smart Health, alongside transactional data and operational and clinical care metrics .

CommBank Health Chief Executive Officer Albert Naffah said the partnership will further extend the data and analytics capability of the Smart Heath solution, empowering healthcare providers to work smarter, gain back valuable time and grow their business.

“Gaining a complete picture of the financial, operational, and patient care metrics enables healthcare practices to dramatically improve administrative efficiencies,” Mr Naffah said.

“The ability to connect systems, monitor earnings and automate routine tasks frees up valuable clinical care resources, leaving providers to focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

“Importantly, it also provides accuracy and transparency for the flow of funds between practices and their customer practitioners.

“This investment also gives us the opportunity to work with Surgical Partners to develop more innovative and exciting solutions for our healthcare practice clients.”

Surgical Partners’ platform brings together payments and claiming, practice management and accounting data. For practices, cash receipts are auto reconciled, and service fees from doctors are calculated and scheduled. Doctors can view their share of billings and connect remuneration data to their personal accounting ledger.

Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Surgical Partners Marcus Wilson said Surgical Partners was excited to partner with CommBank Health and bring more advanced capabilities to healthcare practices.

“Too many practices across Australia have manual back-office functions that result in wasted time and costs for medical professionals,” Mr Wilson said.

“Given most Australian practices are doctor-owned, having the ability to connect systems, monitor performance and automate routine tasks will free up valuable clinical care resources.

“We have long recognised CommBank Health’s shared commitment to innovation in healthcare services and are proud to partner with their energised team of specialised healthcare bankers.”

Today’s announcement follows CommBank Health’s recent (NDIA) to build a new claims at point of support channel for the ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Disability and Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
