The Jindabyne and surrounding communities are invited to a clean-up day targeting the footpath around the lake foreshore and town centre on Saturday 29 April 2023 from 10am to 12pm, meeting at Jindabyne Skate Park.
Hosted by Snowy Monaro Regional Council in partnership with Sustainable Snowies, our Jindabyne community clean-up day is a first step towards a revived and revitalised Jindabyne Foreshore following months of inundation.
“We are so lucky to call this beautiful corner of the earth home and we need to do our part to make sure it stays that way,” said Snowy Monaro Regional Council Education Engagement Officer, Aimee Moy.
To sweeten the deal, every volunteer gets free fresh fruit provided by Woolworths Jindabyne and a free sausage sizzle for their collected litter.
Collection bags for your rubbish-picking needs are provided, but volunteers will need to bring hat, gloves, drinking water and sunscreen.
“This clean-up is just one small way our community can do their part for our town, all while meeting new people and showing a little love to the foreshore and town centre before the winter rush,” said Aimee.
All clean-up day volunteers will also go into a lucky prize draw.
This event is suitable for all ages and abilities. Council asks that participants stay a safe distance from the eroded lake edge along the foreshore pathways.
