Community Council heads to Division 9

Local residents will be able to ask questions or provide feedback when Community Council heads to the Cutheringa Bowls Club in West End tonight.

Division 9 Councillor Colleen Doyle said Council is holding meetings in the suburbs to make it easier for locals to interact with elected officials and senior staff.

“The Mayor, Committee Chairs, Councillors and key staff will attend so residents can ask questions on any topics they wish,” Cr Doyle said.

“It’s important that we provide the community with every opportunity to provide feedback on their local area.

“I’d encourage everyone who lives in Division 9 to try and come along and get first-hand experience of how Council makes its decisions.

“These meetings are an open invitation for residents to ask questions to keep up-to-date with projects in your local area.”

Cr Doyle said the Community Council program was part of the Open Council initiative.

“Council is totally committed to ensuring we continue to become simpler, faster and better to interact with,” Cr Doyle said.

“Community Council allows locals to ask the questions that are important to them. Whether you want to know more about a park upgrade in your street, the Townsville 2020 Masterplan or how the pipeline project is tracking – you’ll get the answer at Community Council.”

Community Council runs from 6pm to 8:30pm tonight, at the Cutheringa Bowls Club at 8 Harold Street in West End.
