Mildura Rural City Council’s new online Community Directory is now live, providing a free, easy-to-access service to connect residents with local community groups, organisations and other services across our region.

Councillor for Community Development and Gender Equity Helen Healy said the directory would be a major advantage for clubs and groups seeking to let the community know about their service or area of interest, as well as residents looking to connect to these groups.

“For community groups and clubs, whether they be sporting clubs, special interest groups or service providers, the Community Directory allows users to easily register their details, including their contact information, making it quick and simple to create a public presence online,” Cr Healy said.

“For residents meanwhile, the directory offers a single, central location for them to search for a broad range of services, clubs or groups to suit their needs.

“This is a great way to connect residents to the services or groups they’re interested in, while also helping local community groups grow and reach a broader audience, so it’s a win-win.”

Community groups and organisations simply create an account to log in, before adding their information and submitting it for approval. Listings can be updated at any time.

The community can then search for groups based on category – including arts, community groups, early education, employment, financial and legal aid, sports and recreation and youth to name a few.

More than 26 groups have already listed in the first week the directory has gone live, with other organisations encouraged to add and update their details.
