If you receive in home support or know somebody who does, Corangamite Shire invites you to an information session. Council has engaged INCITE consulting to undertake a review of its services.

“We are reviewing our role in ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Support Services in response to the Commonwealth Government reforms and welcome community feedback.” Council Coordinator Positive Ageing and Inclusion Chloe McGowan said.

“The reforms are complex in nature, so the information sessions will be a good start in understanding the proposed changes”.

Community members are welcome to come along and hear about the changes being planned for by the Commonwealth in response to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.

Ms McGowan said a new Commonwealth Government program called Support at ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ will replace current services funded by the Federal Government on 1 July 2024.

“The new program will replace the Commonwealth ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Support Program (CHSP), ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Care Packages and Short Term Restorative Care,” she said.

“Council currently delivers CHSP services in Camperdown, Terang, Lismore, Derrinallum, Skipton and surrounds on behalf of the Government.

“We will ensure clients and the community are kept informed as we learn more and progress through the review. Services won’t be disrupted during the review.”

Ms McGowan encouraged interested residents to come along to an information session.
