Community groups can apply for funding though the second round of City of Darwin’s Community Grants Program, with grants between $1,000 and $10,000 available for projects that benefit locals.
City of Darwin releases two rounds of Community Grants per year, with a total value of $100,000 annually, to support projects that contribute to active reconciliation, forge partnerships between community groups and are inclusive and accessible.
City of Darwin Chief Executive Officer, Simone Saunders, encouraged community groups of all sizes to submit an application.
“Our Community Grants Program offers funding opportunities for one-off projects, activities or events that benefit the community,” Ms Saunders said.
“We are proud to have supported a range of events through the last round of grants, including training workshops, language education classes for children, and festivals and celebrations for various community groups.
“Our grants are aimed at supporting the community in projects that build relationships between different community groups, as well as activities that encourage active engagement and leadership from diverse communities,” she said.
Applications for the second round of the Community Grants Program are open until Monday 30 September 2024.
To be eligible, activities must take place between 1 January and 30 June 2025 and take place within the Darwin municipality.
Applicants can be not-for-profit organisations, individuals or groups auspiced by a not-for-profit organisation.
