Are you interested in sharing your views about how Brimbank’s public assets like parks and open spaces, community buildings, and roads should be maintained now and into the future?
Council is seeking 80 community members to be involved in an Asset Plan Community Working Group that will help Council to develop its first-ever 10 Year Asset Plan.
The Asset Plan will focus on three groups of existing public assets:
- Parks, playgrounds, and sports grounds,
- Community buildings and facilities, and
- Roads, footpaths and shared paths.
Council manages over $2.5 billion of assets already in service.
The question is what more could be done to make Brimbank’s great public assets even better? And this is where the Asset Plan Community Working Group will help.
The Asset Plan Community Working Group will attend three workshops from late November to early December, to provide input and feedback to Council on how it would like to see the City’s assets managed.
Discussions will focus on topics like:
- What should Council do more of?
- What should Council do less of?
- What are the trade-offs?
The feedback received will help Council check to see if its maintenance programs need adjustment, and will help shape the development of the 10 Year Asset Plan.
Community members interested in being part of the Asset Plan Community Working Group are required to express their interest by completing an Expression of Interest form on by 18 November 2021.
Participants who attend the three workshops will receive a $100 gift card to support any out-of-pocket expenses and to acknowledge their commitment.
After being developed, the draft 10 Year Asset Plan will be presented to Council before being released for broader public comment.
