Mildura Rural City Council will host a community meeting this weekend to update residents on the Murray River flood event in our region.
Led by the Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES), the meeting will be held at the Mildura Sporting Precinct this Sunday, 6 November starting at 4pm.
It will also be streamed live on Council’s Facebook page for those unable to attend in-person at
Council’s Chief Executive Officer Martin Hawson said the meeting would feature key representatives involved in preparing and responding to the rising river levels, including VICSES and Council staff.
Mr Hawson encouraged residents seeking more information about the rising river levels, particularly those who may be impacted or who are concerned, to attend or watch the live stream.
“While we’re not expecting the rising river levels to have the same impact in our region as we’ve seen further upstream in recent weeks, it’s important our community are kept informed and up-to-date with what we can expect in coming days and weeks,” he said.
“It will provide a chance to stay informed on the latest information and predictions, as well as ask any questions.”
