Community organisations receive vital funding from CommBank

200 community organisations are set to receive a $10,000 donation from CommBank as part of the .

The multi-million-dollar pool of grants is made up of regular contributions by CommBank staff which are matched by the bank, and this year’s program builds on CommBank’s 100-plus year history of supporting the community. Through its Staff Foundation, CommBank employees nominate the charities they’re most passionate about to receive funding.

The grants come after another turbulent year for community organisations, many of whom are facing the rising costs while still recovering from the pandemic. The Foundation provides support to organisations nationwide working across all areas of the community including mental health, cancer research, the arts, Indigenous support, homelessness, animal welfare and more.

One of this year’s recipients is the ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Aboriginal Sporting Chance Academy (NASCA), which provides support across New South Wales and the Northern Territory to young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on their education pathway. The $10,000 grant will enable NASCA to take 40 students on an enlightening Aboriginal cultural excursion, building greater connections and bonds within their wider community.

Joining NASCA as one of the 200 grant recipients is the Breakfast Club (Redcliffe, QLD), Hackham West Community Centre (Hackham, SA), and Peel Community Kitchen (Mandurah, WA).

Nathan Barker, Head of Community Investment at Commonwealth Bank, said: “We’re incredibly thankful to these inspiring organisations that are creating a brighter future in communities across Australia. The CommBank Staff Foundation is proud to support them to continue the amazing work they are doing and driving positive change.”
