Northern Territory Police responded to a large disturbance in the remote community of Nauiyu at Daly River overnight.
Just after 10.00pm, police received multiple reports of a disturbance involving a structure and vehicle fire, hit and run crash and people fighting with weapons.
A 16-year-old male allegedly struck by a vehicle was treated at the local clinic for non-life threatening injuries before being medically evacuated for spinal precautionary assessment at Royal Darwin Hospital.
Additional police resources deployed to the community overnight and calm was eventually restored.
Detectives from Northern Investigations and Major/Serious Crime are enroute to the community to investigate the series of offending in conjunction with local officers.
Commander Kylie Anderson said “Community members, government departments and agency stakeholders have been doing a lot of work in the West Daly Region of late in an effort to restore long term calm to communities.
“The majority of residents want to live in peaceful, safe communities. However, the incidents overnight are extremely disappointing as it shows that a small number of remote residents have no respect for themselves or others. Police will investigate and hold these offenders to account for their actions.”
Enquiries are ongoing.
