CONGRATULATIONS TO STRATEGIC STUDIES COURSE GRADUATES
Today marked the graduation of members who undertook the 2019 Defence and Strategic Studies Course at the Australian Defence College (ADC).
The year-long residential course provided officers of the Australian Defence Force, Australian Public Service and overseas participants with the knowledge and skill required by senior leaders and managers engaged in national security issues.
Notably, this course was the first conducted by the new Australian War College.
Commander ADC, Major General Mick Ryan AM, congratulated the graduates, which this year included 22 international students representing 18 countries, who undertook the course in preparation for senior leadership appointments.
“Today’s graduation marks the culmination of a year’s study exploring strategic security issues of global, regional and national importance,” Major General Ryan said.
“The ADC is a forward leaning and strategically orientated institution. I know these graduates have been prepared well intellectually for their future as senior leaders in their organisations.”
The course focused on global, regional and national security issues; strategic defence policy and planning; civil-military relations and strategic leadership and management, and provides the foundations for future senior leaders in Defence.
The Defence and Strategic Studies Course is partnered with Deakin University to deliver a variety of relevant post-graduate Degrees.
