Take a deep dive into the creative industries sector by attending one of four remaining ‘Expression Sessions’ workshops.
Designed by professionals to support the MidCoast arts community, this valuable series of workshops has been made possible through a funding partnership with TLE Electrical, a division of Metal Manufacturers.
For creatives considering entering the world of self-employment take a look at the ‘Creative Business Plus’ sessions. Facilitated by an experienced creative professional, you’ll learn how to turn your creative practice into a business. The three-hour session covers the essentials of setting up a business, the importance of planning, and practical advice on avoiding common pitfalls.
If you’re looking to elevate your career in the creative industries sign up for ‘Unlocking the Future’, and meet industry experts Nicole Monks, Monica Davidson and MULGA the Artist in an intimate Q&A panelist session. You’ll uncover tips and tricks for navigating the business of art, find out what it’s really like in the creative sector and discover how to harness your creativity in a rapidly evolving digital space.
And for our budding creatives, school students can participate in a hands-on workshop under the guidance of MULGA the Artist. As well as helping children discover their inner artist, MULGA will entertain and inspire, showing that it is possible to make a living as a real artist.
MidCoast Council Manager Libraries, Community and Cultural Services, Alex Mills, said the sessions are valuable and highly informative for anyone looking at entering the industry.
“Supporting our creative industries to grow and thrive is a key action in our Cultural Plan,” he said. “It’s through partnerships and sponsorships with organisations like TLE that we can deliver this support which may otherwise not be possible”.
