The NSW Construction Forestry Maritime Mining and Energy Union has today put its support behind Jodi McKay MP, Member for Strathfield, to be the next leader of NSW Labor.
The Construction Forestry Maritime Mining and Energy Union NSW looks forward to a robust process to select the next leader of NSW Labor.
This historic vote gives rank-and-file ALP members the opportunity to select a strong and proven leader that brings together all members of the ALP, trade union movement, working people and indeed all people in NSW.
We believe Jodi is the only person who can rebuild the trust between Labor and the people of NSW. Jodi McKay is also the only person who can beat Gladys Berejklian and the NSW Liberal / ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Coalition in 2023.
“NSW continues to see workers being sold out by the Liberals and ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾s. Big business and the big banks continue to reap the rewards,” Construction Forestry Maritime Mining and Energy Union NSW State secretary Darren Greenfield said.
“The time has come to elect a leader that can not only win the next election but also take NSW into the future under a leadership built on integrity.
“Jodi has continued to show her commitment to working with her constituents, community groups, unions and the people of NSW to deliver for the whole of the State.”
The CFMMEU calls on all ALP members in NSW to get out and vote in this historic rank-and-file process and vote for Jodi McKay.
