At its September Council meeting, Edward River Council awarded contracts for construction of the Skate Park, operation of the Sports Stadium, operation of the transfer station waste disposal, road reconstruction and supply of crushed rock.
Edward River Council Mayor Cr Peta Betts said the contracts represented a wide range of services provided by Council and showed the breadth of Council’s current activities.
“I am thrilled that we have been able to award the contract for the operation of the Sports Stadium to the current management team. Council was pleased to see the group submit a thoroughly scoped, compliant and good quality tender. We are looking forward to an enhanced operation of the Stadium, including running more programs from the facility.”
A contract was awarded to Independent Concrete Construction for the demolition and rebuild of the Deniliquin Skate Park opposite the Waring Gardens – a much anticipated project slated to begin later this year that will provide an improved skate park experience. Cr Betts said Edward River Council secured $500,000 earlier this year from the NSW Government’s Places to Play Program to construct the new park.
“We are really looking forward to seeing the new skate park come to life. It was designed by a professional skate park designer who worked closely with Council, local community groups, Yarkuwa and school students throughout 2022. It is a project that has had great input from our young people and has been eagerly awaited, so we are keen to get it under way.”
A contract for Transfer Station Waste Disposal was also awarded to local company and current contractor, Country Waste Services Pty Ltd, for a three-year period.

Deniliquin Sports Park Incorporated was awarded Contract C2022/08 Operation and Management of the Deniliquin Regional Sports and Entertainment Centre for a three-year period ending 30 September 2026 for the tender price of $85,000+GST for the 2023/24 financial year
Country Waste Services Pty Ltd for Contract C2021/20 – Transfer Station Waste Disposal for a period of three years at the schedule of rates for 2023/24
Bild Infrastructure Pty Ltd for Contract C2022/07 – Road Reconstruction – Joint Council Sealed Roads – Package 1 for the value of the schedule of rates tender of $1,353,238+GST
Independent Concrete Construction Pty Ltd for Contract C2022/08 – Deniliquin Skate Park for the lump sum of $405,090 inclusive of GST
Andrew Goldman Excavations Pty Ltd and EB Mawsons & Sons Pty Ltd for Contract C2023/03 for Supply of Crushed Rock to Nominated Stockpiles.
