Bushfire warning level: ADVICE
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) advises a bushfire continues to burn in Cooloola.
You need to keep up to date and decide what actions you will take if the situation changes.
Currently as at 6.15pm Monday 30 December, a bushfire continues to burn near Freshwater Road, in the vicinity of Freshwater Lake, Freshwater Day Area and south of the ocean entry side of Freshwater.
QFES and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) crews will remain on scene over the coming days working to contain the fire.
People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.
Freshwater camping area remains closed. Freshwater Road and the Kings Bore Circuit Track, including Bymien Day Use Area, also remains closed. For more information visit: parks.des.qld.gov.au/park-alerts/17534.html.
Campers in the area should remain vigilant over the coming days and adhere to information provided by QPWS Rangers who will be patrolling in the area over the next 24 hours.
Properties are not under direct threat at this time. Call Triple Zero (000) immediately if you believe you or your property is under threat.
