Residents are advised that Cooma ScrapMart will reopen and return to normal operating hours from Thursday 7 March 2024.
We look forward to welcoming back both our regular shoppers and anyone keen to grab themselves a bargain while ensuring their retail therapy is reducing waste to landfill.
We thank the community for their patience as our team and local snake handlers worked to rehome the unwelcomed family of slithering snakes that took up residency in the popular second-hand facility a few weeks ago.
After consultation with our snake handler, and there being no trace of our reptile visitors over the last week, we are now able to reopen to the public. Our team have taken this time to complete a major clean-up of the store, lifting items off the floor making it easier to view under and around items, to make the space more user-friendly for shoppers.
Keen ScrapMart patrons will notice that we have installed snake warning signs, and are reminded to be vigilant and alert when moving through any areas where snakes have been observed.
Our team will continue to undertake inspections and monitor the site for any snake activities to ensure the safety of the community and staff.
